They all knew, what was the point in having so many people search? Xia Yu was in the Wang family’s hands, and this time, even if she was not tortured half to death, the Wang family would still never let her go.

Xia Ling came home and waited for Pei Ziheng’s return in worry. Once he was home, she asked, “Have they found her?”

Pei Ziheng said softly, “Do you know how worried I was at that time? Just like how worried you are about her now, so how could I have noticed other things?”

He helped her onto the sofa in the living room and poured a glass of water for her.

She held the cup absent-mindedly and heard him ask, “Are you still angry with me?”
